Guilty- a sonnet

Guilty

Octave

Ridden with that feeling so predominant,

Agonizing a mind, that ceases to exist,
A cold blooded betrayal of morals incumbent,
Upon his cult shrouded in mist.

Hidden amongst innocent men of everyday,
Some pure, some with shades of grey,
He wanders alone in moral decadence,
The worst sin knowing no redemption,no penance.

Sestet

The earth relinquishes its hold over a thousand souls,
Bracing the impact that creates a wanton hole.
In its wake, a calm bestowing no peace,
Prevails, more chilling than a december breeze.
Descrying this carnage stands He, a malevolent shadow,
Knowing not the torment of guilt that will follow...
